Method

Smoothie

  1. 1

    Prep the melon

If not already done, cut and seed the honeydew and measure 3 cups of 1-inch cubes. For a colder, more flavorful smoothie, chill the melon cubes in the refrigerator for 15–30 minutes before blending if time allows.

  2. 2

    Combine ingredients

Add the chilled honeydew cubes, 1/2 cup plain yogurt, 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice, 1 tablespoon honey, 1 cup ice cubes, 6 packed fresh mint leaves, and 1/8 teaspoon sea salt to a high-speed blender.

  3. 3

    Blend to puree

Blend on high until completely smooth and uniform in texture, about 45–60 seconds depending on blender strength. Stop and scrape down the sides with a spatula once if needed, then blend again for 10–15 seconds to incorporate.

  4. 4

    Adjust texture and sweetness

Check the consistency: if too thick, add 1–2 tablespoons cold water (or coconut water) and pulse to combine. Taste for sweetness and acidity; add up to 1 additional teaspoon honey if you prefer it sweeter, or another 1/2 teaspoon lime juice if it needs more brightness. Blend briefly after adjustments.

  5. 5

Optional strain (for very smooth texture)

If you prefer an ultra-smooth beverage free of any fiber, pour the blended mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher or bowl, pressing gently with a spoon to extract the puree. This step is optional.

  6. 6

    Chill briefly (optional)

If the mixture warmed during blending or you prefer a colder drink, chill the finished puree in the refrigerator for 5–10 minutes or add a few more ice cubes and stir briefly before serving.

Garnish

  1. 7

    Prepare glasses

Divide the smoothie evenly between 2 chilled glasses.

  2. 8

    Garnish and finish

Drizzle about 1 teaspoon honey over the top of the two servings (0.5 tsp per glass) and tuck a mint sprig into each glass. Serve each with a lime wedge on the rim for squeezing at the table.

  3. 9

Serve immediately: Enjoy the honeydew smoothie right away for best texture and flavor.
