Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Pasta

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the rigatoni and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Vegetables

Chop the onion and bell pepper into small pieces. Mince the garlic cloves.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Cook the Meat

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the Italian sausage. Cook until browned, breaking it up into smaller pieces with a spoon. Add the meatballs and cook until heated through.

  2. 4

    Sauté the Vegetables

Add the chopped onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté until the onion is translucent and the vegetables are tender, about 5-7 minutes.

  3. 5

    Add the Sauce

Pour in the canned crushed tomatoes and add oregano, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine and let it simmer for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Assembly

  1. 6

    Combine Ingredients

Add the cooked rigatoni to the skillet with the sauce and meat mixture. Toss to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce.

  2. 7

    Serve

Serve hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese on top.
