Prepare the Meatball Mixture
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.

Form the Meatballs
Using your hands, form the mixture into small balls, approximately 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter. Place the formed meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake the Meatballs
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes or until cooked through and browned.

Combine the Sauce Ingredients
Stir in the canned crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, sugar, and black pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer.

Simmer the Sauce
Allow the sauce to simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly.

Add the Meatballs
Once the meatballs are done baking, add them to the simmering tomato sauce. Let them cook together for an additional 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
