Method
Dough Preparation
- 1
Activate Yeast
In a small bowl, combine warm water (about 110°F), sugar, and active dry yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- 2
Mix Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil.
- 3
Knead the Dough
Mix the ingredients until a dough starts to form. Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.
- 4
First Rise
Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm area for about 1-1.5 hours, or until it has doubled in size.
Assembling the Pizza
- 5
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
- 6
Prepare the Crust
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a 15-inch circle. Place it on a greased pizza stone or baking sheet.
- 7
Add Sauce
Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the crust, leaving a small border around the edges.
- 8
Add Toppings
Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce, then add pepperoni, bell pepper, and onion on top. Finish with oregano and black pepper.
- 9
Bake the Pizza
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
- 10
Slice and Serve
Remove from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, then slice into 10 pieces and serve hot.
