Method
Pasta Preparation
- 1
Cook the Fettuccine
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
Chicken Preparation
- 2
Grill the Chicken
While the pasta is cooking, heat olive oil in a grill pan over medium-high heat. Season the chicken breasts with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder on both sides. Place the chicken in the hot grill pan and cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). Remove from the pan and let rest for a few minutes before slicing.
Alfredo Sauce Preparation
- 3
Make the Alfredo Sauce
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add minced garlic cloves and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly, stirring constantly.
Assembly
- 4
Combine and Serve
In a large bowl, combine the cooked fettuccine pasta with the Alfredo sauce, tossing to coat. Slice the grilled chicken and place it on top of the pasta. Garnish with additional grated Parmesan cheese if desired. Serve hot.
