Method
Preparation
- 1
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, salt, granulated sugar, and instant yeast. Stir until thoroughly mixed.
- 2
Dough Formation
- 3
Combine Ingredients
Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour the wet mixture into it. Stir with a wooden spoon until a shaggy dough forms.
- 4
Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.
Proofing
- 5
First Rise
Place the kneaded dough into a lightly greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 to 1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.
- 6
Shape the Dough
After the first rise, punch down the dough to release the air. Shape it into a loaf by flattening it and rolling it tightly.
Baking
- 7
- 8
Preheat Oven
While the dough is rising, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- 9
Bake the Loaf
Once the loaf has risen, bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
Cooling
- 10
Cool the Bread
Remove the loaf from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
