Method

Bread Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate the Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Mix well.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Once the yeast mixture is frothy, pour it into the dry ingredients along with the olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

  4. 4

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  5. 5

    First Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

  6. 6

    Shape the Breads

After the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into smaller portions. Shape each portion into rolls or loaves.

  7. 7

    Second Rise

Place the shaped dough on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Cover with a cloth and let it rise again for about 30-45 minutes.

  8. 8

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  9. 9

    Bake the Bread

Bake the bread in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.

Butter Preparation

  1. 10

    Prepare the Butter

In a medium bowl, soften the unsalted butter at room temperature.

  2. 11

    Mix Ingredients

Add garlic powder, chopped fresh herbs, and salt to the softened butter. Mix well until fully combined.

  3. 12

    Chill

Transfer the herb butter to a piece of plastic wrap, shape it into a log, wrap tightly, and refrigerate until firm.
