Preparing the Burger Patty

Mixing Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, blackening spice, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined; do not overmix.

Forming the Patties
Divide the mixture into two equal portions and form into patties, about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent it from puffing up while cooking.

In the last minute of cooking, add blue cheese on top of each patty and cover with a lid to allow the cheese to melt.

Slicing the Vegetables
While the bacon is cooking, wash and slice the tomato and onion. Rinse the lettuce and pat dry.
Assembling the Burger

Building the Burger
On the bottom half of each burger bun, layer the lettuce, cooked burger patty with melted blue cheese, bacon strips, tomato slices, and onion slices.

Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately with your choice of sides.
