Method

Prepare Shrimp

  1. 1

    Clean and Wrap Shrimp

Peel and devein the jumbo shrimp, leaving the tails on. Wrap each shrimp with a slice of bacon and secure it with a toothpick.

  2. 2

    Marinate Shrimp

In a bowl, combine the wrapped shrimp with the BBQ sauce. Ensure all shrimp are well coated and let marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.

Fry Onion Straws

  1. 3

    Slice Onion

Slice the large onion into thin rings and separate the rings from each other.

  2. 4

    Prepare Coating

In a bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, paprika, salt, and pepper together.

  3. 5

    Soak Onion Rings

Dip the onion rings into the buttermilk, then dredge them in the flour mixture until fully coated.

  4. 6

    Fry Onion Straws

Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, fry the coated onion rings in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per batch. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Make Garlic Toast

  1. 7

    Prepare Bread

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the French bread loaf in half lengthwise.

  2. 8

    Mix Butter and Seasoning

In a small bowl, mix softened butter with garlic powder and chopped parsley.

  3. 9

    Spread on Bread

Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly on the cut sides of the French bread.

  4. 10

    Toast Bread

Place the bread halves on a baking sheet and toast in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes until golden brown.

Grill Shrimp

  1. 11

    Preheat Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.

  2. 12

    Grill Shrimp

Remove the shrimp from the marinade and place them on the grill. Cook for about 3-4 minutes per side until the bacon is crispy and the shrimp are cooked through.

Serve

  1. 13

    Plate the Dish

On a serving platter, place the garlic toast, top with grilled BBQ shrimp, and garnish with crispy onion straws.

  2. 14
