Burger Assembly

Method

Beef Patties

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patties

In a large bowl, mix the ground beef with salt and black pepper. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties, about 4 oz. each.

Cooking

  1. 2

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.

  2. 3

    Cook the Bacon

In a separate skillet, cook the bacon strips over medium heat until crispy. Remove from heat and place on paper towels to drain excess grease.

  3. 4

    Prepare the Onion Straws

Thinly slice the onion and soak the slices in cold water for about 10 minutes. Drain and pat dry. In a small bowl, toss the onion slices with a bit of flour (optional) and fry them in hot oil until golden brown and crispy.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 5

    Build Your Burger

Toast the burger buns lightly on the grill or in a toaster. On the bottom half of each bun, place a cooked beef patty topped with melted cheddar cheese. Add 2 strips of crispy bacon, a handful of onion straws, pickles, and a generous drizzle of BBQ sauce before placing the top half of the bun on.
