Method
Dough Preparation
- 1
Activate Yeast
In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- 2
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt.
- 3
Combine Dough Ingredients
Once the yeast is activated, add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour mixture. Stir until a dough begins to form.
- 4
Knead Dough
Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface. Knead for about 8-10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.
- 5
First Rise
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Assembling the Pizza
- 6
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
- 7
Shape the Dough
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and transfer it to a floured surface. Roll it out into a 15-inch circle, about 0.5 inches thick.
- 8
Prepare Baking Sheet
Transfer the rolled-out dough to a greased pizza stone or baking sheet.
- 9
Add Sauce
Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
- 10
Add Toppings
Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce. Add pepperoni slices, sliced bell peppers, and black olives on top. Sprinkle dried oregano and grated Parmesan cheese over the toppings.
- 11
Bake Pizza
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
- 12
Cool and Slice
Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing it into 10 pieces. Serve hot.
