In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion, bell pepper, and garlic, and sauté until the vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.

Cook the Beef
Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook until the beef is browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart with a spatula as it cooks, about 7-10 minutes.

Add Seasoning and Sauce
Stir in the cumin, oregano, salt, black pepper, and tomato sauce. Mix well and let it simmer for another 5-7 minutes.

Incorporate Jalapenos
If desired, add diced jalapenos to the mixture for heat. Let it cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.

Serve the picadillo hot, topped with crema and crumbled queso fresco. Enjoy with rice or tortillas.
