Making the Miso Caramel

4

Melt Sugar

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the granulated sugar and cook until melted and golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.

5

Add Butter

Remove the saucepan from heat and carefully stir in the unsalted butter until melted.

6

Add Cream

Slowly pour in the heavy cream while stirring continuously. Be cautious as the mixture will bubble up.

7

Add Miso and Salt

Stir in the white miso paste and sea salt until fully combined.

Making the Cornmeal Streusel

8

Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cornmeal, all-purpose flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon.

9

Add Butter to Mixture

Melt the unsalted butter and add it to the dry ingredients. Mix until crumbly.

10

Top Apples with Streusel

Sprinkle the streusel mixture evenly over the apple wedges in the baking dish.

11

Bake

Bake for 25-30 minutes until the apples are tender and the streusel is golden brown.

Assembly

12

Once the apple mixture is baked, remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly.

13
