Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 2

    Prepare the Ham

Place the ham in a large roasting pan. Score the surface of the ham in a diamond pattern for better flavor absorption.

  3. 3

    Mix the Glaze

In a bowl, combine the brown sugar, soy sauce, ground ginger, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix until you form a thick glaze.

  4. 4

    Apply the Glaze

Spread half of the glaze over the scored ham, making sure to get it into the cuts.

  5. 5

    Add Pineapple

Drain the pineapple chunks and scatter them around the ham in the roasting pan. Drizzle the remaining glaze over the ham and pineapple.

Cooking

  1. 6

    Bake the Ham

Cover the roasting pan with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 1.5 hours.

  2. 7

    Uncover and Glaze Again

After 1.5 hours, remove the foil and brush the ham with any remaining glaze. Bake uncovered for an additional 30 minutes, or until the ham is heated through and caramelized.

  3. 8

    Rest the Ham

Once done, remove the ham from the oven and let it rest for about 15 minutes before slicing.

  4. 9

    Garnish and Serve

Chop fresh parsley and sprinkle over the ham before serving. Enjoy your Polynesian ham with pineapple!
