Garlic Bread

Method

Garlic Bread

  1. 1

    Prepare the Garlic Butter

In a small bowl, combine softened butter, minced garlic (from 4 cloves), chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

  2. 2

    Slice the Bread

Cut the French bread loaf in half lengthwise. This will create two open-faced halves for spreading the garlic butter.

  3. 3

    Spread the Garlic Butter

Generously spread the prepared garlic butter mixture evenly over the cut sides of the bread.

  4. 4

    Bake the Bread

Place the garlic bread halves on a baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for about 10-12 minutes, until the edges are golden and crispy.

Marinara Sauce

  1. 5

    Sauté the Onions and Garlic

In a large saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onions and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add minced garlic (from 3 cloves) and cook for another minute until fragrant.

  2. 6

    Add Tomatoes and Spices

Pour in the canned crushed tomatoes and stir in dried oregano, dried basil, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Mix well to combine.

  3. 7

    Simmer the Sauce

Bring the mixture to a simmer. Reduce heat to low and let it cook uncovered for about 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens.

  4. 8

    Finish with Fresh Basil

Just before serving, stir in fresh basil leaves for added flavor.
