Method

Bread Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and add the frothy yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

  4. 4

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  5. 5

    First Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.

  6. 6

    Shape the Bread

Punch down the risen dough and shape it into a loaf. Place it into a greased loaf pan.

  7. 7

    Second Rise

Cover the loaf again with a damp cloth and let it rise for another 30 minutes.

Garlic Butter Preparation

  1. 8

    Melt Butter

In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter.

  2. 9

    Add Garlic and Herbs

Once melted, add minced garlic, chopped parsley, dried oregano, and salt. Stir well and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.

Baking

  1. 10

    Preheat Oven

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. 11

    Bake the Bread

Bake the dough in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and hollow sounding when tapped.

  3. 12

    Brush with Garlic Butter

As soon as the bread comes out of the oven, brush the top with the prepared garlic butter. Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing.
