Cocktail
Method
Cocktail
Muddle cucumber and combine
Place 3 thin cucumber slices into a cocktail shaker. Add the elderflower liqueur, fresh lemon juice, and simple syrup. Gently muddle the cucumber 6–8 times to release fresh cucumber juice and aroma without pulverizing the flesh.
Add gin and ice
Add 2 oz Brooklyn Gin to the shaker. Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup) until nearly full.
Shake
Secure the shaker and shake vigorously for about 10–12 seconds until the shaker is well chilled and slightly frosted. This chills and dilutes the mixture and integrates the cucumber.
Double strain into flute or coupe
Strain the shaken mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a chilled Champagne flute or coupe to remove cucumber bits and small ice shards. Fill the glass about two-thirds full (leave room for Prosecco).
Top with Prosecco
Gently top the cocktail with 3 oz well-chilled Prosecco. Pour slowly down the side of the glass to preserve bubbles and create a gentle rise.
Optional adjustment
If you prefer a sweeter drink, increase simple syrup to 0.5 oz. For more pronounced cucumber, muddle one extra slice or use a light cucumber juice (replace 0.25 oz of simple syrup with 0.25 oz cucumber juice).
