Braised Short Ribs

Prepare the Ribs
Season the short ribs with salt and black pepper.

Add Liquid and Simmer
Pour in the beef broth, soy sauce, and brown sugar. Add bay leaves. Bring to a simmer, cover, and reduce heat to low. Cook for 2-3 hours until the ribs are tender.

Prepare the Slaw
In a large bowl, combine shredded cabbage, grated carrot, and chopped cilantro.

Make Dressing
In a small bowl, whisk together rice vinegar, sesame oil, sugar, salt, and black sesame seeds.

Toss Slaw
Pour the dressing over the cabbage mixture and toss well to combine. Let sit for at least 15 minutes before serving.
Blackberry Hoisin Sauce

Combine Ingredients
In a blender, combine hoisin sauce, fresh blackberries, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and sesame oil.

Blend until smooth and well combined. Adjust seasoning if necessary.
Flatbread Assembly

Prepare Flatbreads
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Place flatbreads on a baking sheet.

Add Toppings
Spread a generous amount of braised short ribs on each flatbread. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese and candied Fresno chilis.

Bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
