Method
Garlic Hummus
- 1
Prepare the Hummus
In a food processor, combine the canned chickpeas, tahini, garlic cloves, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and water. Blend until smooth, adding more water if necessary to achieve desired consistency. Set aside.
Roasted Red Bell Peppers
- 2
Roast the Peppers
Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C). Cut the red bell peppers in half and remove the seeds. Toss them with olive oil and salt. Place the peppers cut side down on a baking sheet and roast for 20-25 minutes until the skin is blistered and charred. Remove from the oven and let cool before peeling away the skin.
Sautéed Garlic Swiss Chard
- 3
Sauté the Swiss Chard
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Add the chopped Swiss chard, and salt. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the chard is wilted and tender. Remove from heat.
Basil Pesto

Make the Basil Pesto
In a food processor, combine fresh basil leaves, pine nuts, parmesan cheese, olive oil, garlic cloves, and salt. Blend until smooth. Adjust seasoning if necessary and set aside.
Toasted Almonds
- 5
Toast the Almonds
In a small skillet over medium heat, add the sliced almonds. Toast for 3-5 minutes, stirring frequently, until golden brown and fragrant. Remove from heat and set aside.
