Base Coffee

Optional Flavor (rotating weekly roast-infused)

Method

Base Coffee

1

Measure beans

Weigh or measure whole beans: use 1.5 tablespoons (≈0.083 cups) of coffee beans per 12 fl oz (1.5 cups) of water. For a standard 12 fl oz iced coffee, measure 1.5 tablespoons beans. If using the weekly roast-infused flavor, substitute the same volume with the flavored beans or blend 50/50 with the house beans.

2

Grind

Grind the beans to a medium-coarse grind appropriate for drip/pour-over brewing. The grind should be slightly coarser than standard drip to minimize over-extraction when cooled.

3

Brew

Brew using your preferred method (automatic drip, pour-over, or Aeropress) with 12 fl oz (1.5 cups) of cold filtered water per 1.5 tablespoons of ground coffee. Brew to normal strength — target extraction time ~3–4 minutes for pour-over or the machine's normal cycle. Aim for a brewed coffee concentrate strong enough to remain flavorful over ice.

4

Cool quickly

Once brewed, transfer the hot coffee immediately to a heat-safe container and place it in an ice bath to cool faster, or let it come to room temperature for 10–15 minutes before refrigerating. Rapid cooling preserves the flavor clarity of the roast.

5

If using a roast-flavored bean: roast-flavored beans are roasted with flavor notes integrated (no syrup). Substitute them for the same measured amount of base beans, or mix them 50/50 with base beans for a subtler effect. Follow the same grind and brew steps above. Ensure the flavor bean is freshly roasted no more than 2–3 weeks for best aromatic clarity.

Serving & Finish

6

Prepare glass

Fill a serving glass with 1.5 cups of ice cubes (or enough to reach just below the rim for a 12 fl oz serving). Using plenty of ice chills the coffee quickly without over-diluting.

7

Assemble iced coffee

Pour the cooled brewed coffee over the ice until the glass is about 3/4 full (approximately 10–12 fl oz of brewed coffee depending on glass size). Leave room for milk or alternatives if desired.

8

Finish

Add 2 fl oz cold whole milk (or chosen milk alternative) if ordering with milk; stir gently. If the customer wants a touch of sweetness, add up to 1/2 tbsp simple syrup and stir until incorporated. For a slightly lighter mouthfeel without sweetness, add 1 tbsp room-temperature water instead of milk.

9

Serve

Serve immediately with a straw. Offer the beverage black or with milk and remind guests that the shop uses roast-infused flavors (no flavored syrups) for a smooth, unsweetened profile.
