Method
Brisket Preparation
- 1
Season the Brisket
In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Rub this mixture all over the beef brisket.
- 2
Cook the Brisket
Place the seasoned brisket in a slow cooker. Pour the beef broth over the brisket. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or until the brisket is tender and easily shredded.
- 3
Shred the Brisket
Once cooked, remove the brisket from the slow cooker and let it rest for about 15 minutes. Shred the meat using two forks.
Slaw Preparation
- 4
Make the Slaw
In a large mixing bowl, combine shredded cabbage and grated carrots. In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper until smooth. Pour the dressing over the cabbage and carrots, and mix well. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
Sandwich Assembly
- 5
Assemble the Sandwich
Slice the ciabatta bread in half. Layer on a generous amount of shredded brisket, followed by a portion of the slaw, and top with sliced pickles. Close the sandwich and serve immediately.
