Fried Pickles
Ranch Dressing
Method
Fried Pickles
- 1
Prepare Pickles
Drain the sliced dill pickles and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
- 2
Set Up Breading Station
In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, cornmeal, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, black pepper, and salt. In another bowl, pour the buttermilk.
- 3
Bread the Pickles
Dip each pickle slice into the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off, then dredge in the flour mixture until well coated. Repeat until all pickles are breaded.
- 4
Heat Oil
In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry Pickles
Carefully add the breaded pickles to the hot oil in batches, frying for about 2-3 minutes per side or until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
Ranch Dressing
- 6
Mix Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, combine mayonnaise, sour cream, buttermilk, dill weed, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- 7
Whisk Together
Whisk the ingredients together until smooth and well combined. Adjust seasoning if needed.
- 8
Chill
Cover and refrigerate the ranch dressing for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld.
