Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Sauté the Vegetables

Thinly slice the onion and mushrooms. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook until they become translucent, about 4 minutes. Then add the sliced mushrooms, salt, and black pepper, and sauté for an additional 5-7 minutes until the mushrooms are tender and golden.

Assemble the Sandwich

  1. 2

    Toast the Baguette

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the sourdough baguette in half lengthwise. Place the halves on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes until they are golden brown.

  2. 3

    Layer the Ingredients

Once the baguette is toasted, layer the smoked turkey on one half, followed by the sautéed onions and mushrooms, and finally top with the Swiss cheese.

  3. 4

    Add BBQ Sauce and Close

Drizzle the BBQ sauce over the cheese, then place the other half of the baguette on top to close the sandwich.

Finishing Touches

  1. 5

    Melt the Cheese (Optional)

If desired, return the assembled sandwich to the oven for an additional 3-5 minutes to melt the cheese.

  2. 6

    Serve

Remove from the oven, slice the sandwich into manageable pieces, and serve warm.
