Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Thinly slice the Certified Angus Beef® brand beef or cut the chicken into small chunks. Slice the onion and bell peppers into thin strips.

  2. 2

    Make the Stout-Horseradish Cream Sauce

In a bowl, combine stout beer, horseradish, and sour cream. Mix well and season with salt and black pepper to taste. Set aside.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Sauté Vegetables

In a large skillet over medium heat, add a tablespoon of oil (if desired) and sauté the sliced onion and bell peppers for about 5-7 minutes until they are tender and slightly caramelized.

  2. 4

    Cook the Protein

Add the thinly sliced beef or chicken chunks to the skillet with the sautéed vegetables. Cook for an additional 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the meat is cooked through and browned.

  3. 5

    Melt the Cheese

Place the American cheese slices over the meat and vegetables in the skillet. Cover the skillet for 1-2 minutes until the cheese is melted.

Assembly

  1. 6

    Build the Sandwich

Slice the sourdough baguette in half lengthwise. Spoon the beef or chicken and vegetable mixture onto the bottom half of the baguette. Drizzle with the stout-horseradish cream sauce. Close the sandwich with the top half of the baguette.

  2. 7

    Serve

Cut the sandwich into portions and serve immediately while hot.
