Method

Crab Cake Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix the Crab Cake Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the fresh crabmeat, softened cream cheese, chopped green onions, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until all ingredients are well combined.

  2. 2

    Add the Binder

Fold in the bread crumbs and the beaten egg into the crab mixture until fully integrated. Be careful not to over-mix to keep the crab meat intact.

  3. 3

    Shape the Crab Cakes

Using your hands, form the crab mixture into 4 equal-sized patties, about 1 inch thick. Place the patties on a plate and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to help them hold their shape.

  4. 4

    Fry the Crab Cakes

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the crab cakes to the skillet, cooking for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Chipotle Mayonnaise Preparation

  1. 5

    Mix the Chipotle Mayonnaise

In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, finely chopped chipotle in adobo sauce, and lime juice. Stir until smooth and well blended.
