Mushroom Topping

Method

Burger Patties

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patties

In a large bowl, combine ground beef with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and form each portion into a patty, about ¾ inch thick.

  3. 3

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.

Mushroom Topping

  1. 4

    Sauté the Mushrooms

In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add sliced mushrooms and cook until they are browned and tender, about 5-7 minutes.

  2. 5

    Add Garlic and Seasoning

Stir in minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until garlic is fragrant.

Assembly

  1. 6

    Melt the Cheese

During the last minute of cooking the patties, place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty and cover the grill or skillet to melt the cheese.

  2. 7

    Prepare the Buns

Toast burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  3. 8

    Assemble the Burger

On each toasted bun, place a patty with melted cheese, followed by sautéed mushrooms, shredded lettuce, sliced tomato, pickles, ketchup, and mustard.

  4. 9

    Serve

Serve the Mushroom Swiss Burgers immediately with your favorite side dishes.
