Method
Preparation
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it's hot enough to bake the cookie.
- 2
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
- 3
Cream Butter and Sugars
In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until the mixture is light and fluffy.
- 4
- 5
Combine Mixtures
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing on low speed until just combined. Do not overmix.
- 6
Fold in Chocolate Chips
Using a spatula or wooden spoon, fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
Baking
- 7
Shape the Cookie
Scoop the dough onto a large, parchment-lined baking sheet. Press it into a giant cookie shape, about 1 inch thick, making sure to leave enough space around the edges.
- 8
Bake
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is still slightly soft.
- 9
Cool
Remove the cookie from the oven and let it cool on the baking sheet for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
