Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.

  2. 2

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

Mixing

  1. 3

    Cream Butter and Sugars

In a large mixing bowl, beat the unsalted butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.

  2. 4

    Add Eggs and Vanilla

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then add the vanilla extract and mix until combined.

  3. 5

    Incorporate Dry Ingredients

Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Baking

  1. 6

    Add Optional Ingredients

If desired, fold in chocolate chips and chopped nuts into the batter.

  2. 7

    Pour and Bake

Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

Cooling and Serving

  1. 8

    Cool the Brownies

Remove from the oven and allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

  2. 9

    Slice and Serve

Once cooled, slice the brownies into squares and serve. Enjoy!
