Method
Preparing the Burger Patty
- 1
Mix the Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, Cajun seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.
- 2
Form the Patties
Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about ¾ inch thick.
Cooking the Burger
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- 4
Cook the Patties
Add the patties to the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are blackened and have reached your desired level of doneness.
Assembling the Burger
- 5
Prepare the Toppings
While the burgers are cooking, slice the tomato and red onion. Rinse and dry the lettuce.
- 6
Add the Bleu Cheese
Once the burgers are cooked, place a generous amount of bleu cheese on top of each patty in the skillet and allow it to melt slightly.
- 7
Build the Burger
On the bottom half of each burger bun, layer the lettuce, followed by the cooked patty with melted bleu cheese, sliced tomato, and red onion. Place the top half of the bun on each burger.
