Inspect and prepare

Inspect the off-white tee for any defects, loose threads, or stains. If needed, patch small holes using pre-washed cotton fabric and sewing machine or hand stitch. Remove any lint using a lint roller.

Pre-press the tee on a heat press or with a hot iron for 5–8 seconds at 150–160°C (300–320°F) to remove moisture and flatten seams. This ensures consistent ink pickup.

Prepare artwork and screen

Create or confirm the Simmzy's Beach Eats artwork in vector format at actual print size. Coat and expose the screen with the film positive, then wash out the emulsion and allow the screen to dry completely. Tape the screen edges and register the screen to align the artwork on the chest or back as desired.

Mix ink for soft-hand offwhite print

In a clean cup, mix 40 ml off-white/beige textile ink with 20 ml clear base or extender medium to achieve a soft-hand print that blends subtly with the tee color. If the design includes darker logo details (black or navy), measure 10–15 ml of black/navy ink into a separate cup for registration prints.

Set up platen and tee

Place protective kraft paper on the platen. Using the ruler/T-square and fabric-safe tape, position the tee on the platen so the neckline and side seams are aligned. Use registration marks on the screen and platen to ensure consistent placement across multiple tees.

Print the main color

Load the mixed off-white ink along the top of the screen. With the screen locked in place, use the squeegee at a 45-degree angle and even pressure to draw the ink across the design in one firm pass. Repeat for a second pass if needed to achieve opacity, but avoid overloading to keep a soft hand. Typical print thickness: single- or low-durometer squeegee, one to two passes.

Print darker details (if any)

If the design has black or navy logo elements, switch screens or wash the screen and register the darker ink screen. Load the darker ink and print carefully using light pressure to keep edges crisp. Check registration and adjust if necessary.

Drying and curing

Immediately flash-dry the print if applying a multi-layer or to tack it before a second color (use a flash unit for 3–6 seconds or until tack-free). After final printing, cure the ink using a heat press or conveyor dryer at the manufacturer's recommended temperature (typically 150–160°C / 300–320°F for 10–15 seconds for water-based inks; follow ink instructions). Use heat-resistant gloves and place kraft paper between platen and tee if necessary.

Sew or heat-seal the woven neck label into the inside center-back of the neckline. Attach the size/care printed tag in the side seam or as a heat-seal label according to your brand spec. Ensure labels are aligned and not wrinkled.

Attach the hang tag to the tee using the hang tag string, positioned near the collar or along a sleeve according to retail preference.

Do a final quality check: examine print for registration issues, smudges, or incomplete coverage; check seams and labels; remove any stray threads, and perform a final lint roll. If any corrections are needed (light touch-up of print edges with textile ink and a fine brush), make them and re-cure the touched area following ink cure instructions.

Fold the tee neatly with the printed side facing out or in per visual preference. Insert a tissue sheet if desired and place into a poly bag or retail packaging. Include a care card that recommends washing inside out, cold water, gentle cycle, and tumble dry low or hang dry to preserve print life.

Store finished tees flat or hanging in a cool, dry area away from direct sunlight until distribution.
