Ingredients for Western Omelet

Method

Directions for Preparing Western Omelet

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Dice the ham, bell peppers, and onion. Shred the cheddar cheese and set aside.

  2. 2

    Cook the Vegetables

In a skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Add the diced bell peppers and onions. Sauté until they are soft, about 3-5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Add Ham

Add the diced ham to the skillet and cook for an additional 2 minutes until heated through. Remove the mixture from the skillet and set aside.

  4. 4

    Make the Omelet

In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, salt, and black pepper. Melt the remaining tablespoon of butter in the skillet over medium heat. Pour in the egg mixture, tilting the pan to ensure even coverage.

  5. 5

    Add Filling

When the edges of the omelet start to set, sprinkle the sautéed ham, bell peppers, onions, and shredded cheddar cheese on one half of the omelet.

  6. 6

    Fold and Serve

Carefully fold the other half of the omelet over the filling. Cook for an additional minute until the cheese melts. Serve immediately with toast and breakfast potatoes.
