Gather Ingredients
Collect all the ingredients: rye whiskey, Cynar, maraschino liqueur, dry vermouth, celery bitters, and a lemon twist for garnish.

Chill the Glass
Place a cocktail glass in the freezer or fill it with ice water to chill while you prepare the drink.
Mixing

Combine Ingredients
In a mixing glass filled with ice, pour in 2 oz of rye whiskey, 1 oz of Cynar, 0.5 oz of maraschino liqueur, and 0.5 oz of dry vermouth.

Add Bitters
Add 2 dashes of celery bitters to the mixing glass.

Stir
Stir the mixture gently with a bar spoon for about 30 seconds or until well chilled.
Serving

Strain and Serve
Remove the cocktail glass from the freezer or discard the ice water. Strain the mixture into the chilled glass.
