Turkey Preparation

Method

Turkey Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Turkey

Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Rinse the turkey under cold water and pat it dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Season the Turkey

Rub the turkey inside and out with salt and black pepper. Drizzle olive oil over the turkey and rub it in to ensure it is well coated.

  3. 3

    Add Aromatics

Mince the garlic cloves and add them inside the turkey cavity along with the fresh rosemary, thyme, and the lemon cut into quarters.

Stuffing

  1. 4

    Prepare the Stuffing

In a large bowl, combine the bread cubes, chopped celery, and onion. Mix well.

  2. 5

    Moisten the Stuffing

Pour the chicken broth into the bread mixture gradually, stirring until the bread is moist but not soggy.

  3. 6

    Add Cranberries and Season

Stir in the dried cranberries, sage, and season with salt and pepper to taste.

  4. 7

    Stuff the Turkey

Carefully spoon the stuffing into the cavity of the turkey, making sure not to overfill.

Cooking

  1. 8

    Roast the Turkey

Place the stuffed turkey in a roasting pan and cover it loosely with aluminum foil. Roast for about 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

  2. 9

    Baste and Finish

Remove the foil during the last 30 minutes of roasting for a golden brown skin. Baste the turkey with its juices every 30 minutes.

  3. 10

    Rest the Turkey

Once cooked, remove the turkey from the oven and let it rest for at least 20 minutes before carving.
