Pimento Cheese

Method

Pimento Cheese Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, shredded sharp cheddar cheese, diced pimentos, and mayonnaise. Stir until smooth and creamy.

  2. 2

    Season the Mixture

Add the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to ensure even distribution of spices.

  3. 3

    Chill

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the pimento cheese for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Sandwich Assembly

  1. 4

    Prepare the Pork Belly

If not already done, slow roast the pork belly in the oven at 250°F (120°C) for 5-6 hours until tender. Slice into 1/4 inch thick pieces when ready.

  2. 5

    Sauté the Mushrooms

In a skillet over medium heat, add a little oil and sauté the sliced mushrooms until golden brown and tender, about 5-7 minutes.

  3. 6

    Assemble the Sandwich

Spread a generous layer of pimento cheese on one slice of bread. Layer with American cheese, sliced pork belly, sautéed mushrooms, and a dollop of HAUS bacon jam. Top with thinly sliced red onion.

  4. 7

    Grill the Sandwich

Top with the second slice of bread and grill the sandwich in a skillet over medium heat until the bread is golden brown and the cheeses melt, about 3-4 minutes per side.

  5. 8

    Serve

Once grilled, remove from the skillet, cut in half, and serve immediately. Enjoy your Boss Hog sandwich!
