Method

Preparing the Patties

  1. 1

    Season the Beef

In a bowl, mix the Angus beef patties with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Ensure that both sides of the patties are evenly coated with the seasoning.

  2. 2

    Shape the Patties

Gently shape the seasoned beef into two equal patties, making sure they are slightly larger than the burger buns as they will shrink while cooking.

Cooking the Patties

  1. 3

    Heat the Pan

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the shaped patties in the hot skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side until a nice crust forms. Flip the patties and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes for medium-rare doneness.

  3. 5

    Add Cheese (Optional)

If using, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking. Cover the skillet to melt the cheese.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 6

    Prepare the Buns

Lightly toast the burger buns on a separate pan or in the oven until golden brown.

  2. 7

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by a cooked beef patty, a slice of tomato, pickles, and your choice of ketchup and mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.
