Directions
- 1
Prepare the Onions
Peel the onions and slice them into 1/4 inch thick rings. Separate the rings and set them aside.
- 2
Make the Batter
In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Mix well. In another bowl, beat the eggs and then whisk in the milk until well combined. Gradually add the egg mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring until you achieve a smooth batter.

Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test if the oil is ready by dropping a small piece of batter into it; if it sizzles, the oil is hot enough.

Fry the Onion Rings
Carefully place the breaded onion rings into the hot oil in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Use a slotted spoon to remove the rings and transfer them to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
