Burger Assembly

Method

Prepare the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the beef mixture into two equal portions and shape them into burger patties, about 1 inch thick.

  3. 3

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the desired doneness is reached.

Sauté the Mushrooms

  1. 4

    Heat the Pan

In a skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat until melted.

  2. 5

    Sauté the Garlic

Add minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

  3. 6

    Add the Mushrooms

Add sliced mushrooms and chopped thyme to the skillet. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mushrooms are tender and golden brown.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 7

    Toast the Buns (optional)

If desired, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until lightly golden.

  2. 8

    Layer the Ingredients

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by a cooked burger patty, sautéed mushrooms, a slice of tomato, and cheese (if using).

  3. 9

    Complete the Burger

Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
