Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine the warm milk and yeast. Allow it to sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, and salt.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Add the activated yeast mixture and melted butter to the dry ingredients. Mix well.

  4. 4

    Add Eggs

Beat in the eggs one at a time until the dough comes together.

  5. 5

    Knead the Dough

Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-10 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Filling Preparation

  1. 6

    Prepare Filling

In a bowl, mix together the brown sugar, cinnamon, chopped nuts, and raisins until evenly blended.

Assemble and Bake

  1. 7

    Roll Out Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to a rectangle about 16x24 inches.

  2. 8

    Spread Filling

Spread the filling evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.

  3. 9

    Roll and Cut

Starting from one of the long edges, roll the dough tightly into a log. Cut into 12 equal pieces.

  4. 10

    Prepare Sticky Topping

In a saucepan, combine the brown sugar, butter, and corn syrup. Heat until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is smooth.

  5. 11

    Assemble Buns

Pour the sticky topping into a greased baking dish and arrange the cut buns on top. Allow to rise again for about 30 minutes.

  6. 12

    Bake

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the sticky buns for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.

  7. 13

    Cool and Serve

Let the buns cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before inverting onto a serving plate. Enjoy warm, and decide if you want to share!
