Method
Bread Pudding Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Bread
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Cut the pretzel bread into 1-inch cubes and place them in a large mixing bowl.
- 2
Mix Wet Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together the whole milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until smooth.
- 3
Combine Ingredients
Pour the wet mixture over the pretzel bread cubes and gently fold until all the bread is well-coated. Let it sit for about 15 minutes to allow the bread to soak up the liquid.
- 4
Bake the Pudding
Transfer the soaked bread mixture to a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Kahlúa Caramel Sauce Preparation
- 5
Make the Caramel
In a saucepan over medium heat, add the granulated sugar and cook, stirring constantly until it melts and turns a golden brown color.
- 6
Add Butter and Kahlúa
Once melted, carefully add the butter and stir until melted and combined. Slowly pour in the Kahlúa, stirring continuously.
- 7
Finish the Sauce
Remove from heat and slowly stir in the heavy cream and a pinch of salt. Allow the sauce to cool slightly before drizzling over the warm bread pudding.
