Method

Burger Patty Preparation

1

Prepare the Beef Patty

In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined.

2

Form the Patties

Divide the beef mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties, about 3/4 inch thick.

3

Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.

Cranberry Sauce Preparation

4

Combine Ingredients

In a saucepan, combine fresh cranberries, sugar, water, and orange zest.

5

Cook the Sauce

Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes, until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens.

6

Cool the Sauce

Remove from heat and let the cranberry sauce cool slightly before using.

Assembling the Burger

7

Prepare the Buns

Lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster.

8

Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, then the cooked beef patty, followed by a generous spoonful of cranberry sauce. Add cheese, sliced tomato, and a dollop of mayonnaise if desired.

9

Serve

Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately while hot.
