Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Pat the ribeye steaks dry with paper towels. Drizzle olive oil on both sides of the steaks, then season generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Allow them to sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Grill the Steak

Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Place the steaks on the grill and add fresh rosemary sprigs on top. Grill for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, adjusting the time based on your preferred doneness.

  3. 3

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked, transfer the steaks to a plate and cover loosely with foil. Let them rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing.

Fries Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel the russet potatoes and cut them into thin strips (about 1/4 inch thick). Soak the fries in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch, then drain and dry them thoroughly with paper towels.

  2. 5

    Heat the Oil

In a deep pot or fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer to ensure the oil is at the right temperature.

  3. 6

    Fry the Potatoes

Carefully add a handful of fries to the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 5-7 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  4. 7

    Season the Fries

While the fries are still hot, sprinkle with salt to taste. Serve immediately with the grilled steak.
