Method

Tortilla Chips

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tortillas

Stack the corn tortillas and cut them into quarters to create triangle-shaped chips.

  2. 2

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  3. 3

    Fry the Chips

Carefully add the tortilla triangles to the hot oil in batches, frying for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.

  4. 4

    Drain and Season

Use a slotted spoon to remove the chips and place them on a plate lined with paper towels. Sprinkle with salt while still hot.

Salsa

  1. 5

    Chop the Ingredients

Dice the tomatoes, red onion, and jalapeño pepper. Make sure to remove the seeds from the jalapeño if you prefer a milder salsa.

  2. 6

    Combine the Ingredients

In a medium bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, red onion, jalapeño, and chopped cilantro.

  3. 7

    Add Seasoning

Pour in the lime juice and sprinkle the mixture with salt. Stir gently to combine all ingredients.

  4. 8

    Let it Rest

Allow the salsa to sit for at least 15 minutes to let the flavors meld before serving.
