Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Roast
Preheat your oven to 500°F (260°C). Pat the prime rib roast dry with paper towels, then place it on a cutting board.
- 2
Seasoning Mix
In a small bowl, combine minced garlic, chopped rosemary, thyme, olive oil, salt, and black pepper to create a seasoning paste.
- 3
Apply Seasoning
Rub the seasoning mix all over the prime rib, ensuring even coverage. Let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
- 4
Roasting
Place the prime rib in a roasting pan, bone side down. Roast in the preheated oven for 20 minutes to create a crust. Then reduce the temperature to 325°F (163°C) and continue roasting for an additional 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches your desired doneness.
- 5
Resting
Remove the roast from the oven and tent it with aluminum foil. Let it rest for at least 20-30 minutes before slicing to allow the juices to redistribute.
- 6
Serve
Slice the prime rib and serve with your favorite sides.
