Prepare the Tuna
Pat the tuna steaks dry with a paper towel and season both sides generously with black pepper and salt.

Heat the Pan
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.

Sear the Tuna
Carefully place the tuna steaks in the hot skillet. Sear for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the outside is nicely browned and the inside is still rare.

Plate the Dish
Remove the tuna from the skillet and let it rest for a minute. Slice the tuna into thick pieces and arrange on a plate.

Top the tuna with pickled ginger and a small dollop of wasabi. Drizzle sweet soy sauce over the top.
