Prepare the Glass
Chill an Old Fashioned glass by filling it with ice water while you prepare the cocktail.

Mix the Cocktail
In a mixing glass, combine the Buffalo Trace Bourbon, simple syrup, and Angostura bitters.

Add Ice
Fill the mixing glass with ice cubes and stir the mixture for about 20-30 seconds until well chilled.

Prepare the Glass Again
Discard the ice water from the chilled Old Fashioned glass.

Strain and Serve
Strain the chilled cocktail into the prepared Old Fashioned glass over one large ice cube.

Garnish
Express the oils of the orange peel over the drink and drop it in as a garnish. Add the maraschino cherry on top.
