Method

Preparing the Patties

  1. 1

    Mix the Meat

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until the seasoning is evenly distributed throughout the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the meat mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, approximately 3/4 inch thick.

Cooking the Patties

  1. 3

    Heat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, add a small amount of oil to prevent sticking.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the hot grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).

  3. 5

    Add Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty. Cover with a lid to help melt the cheese.

Assembling the Cheeseburgers

  1. 6

    Toast the Buns

While the patties are cooking, you can toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 7

    Build the Burger

Spread ketchup and mustard on the bottom half of each bun. Place a lettuce leaf followed by a cooked patty with melted cheese. Top with tomato slices and pickles, then cover with the top half of the bun.
