Jalapeño Poppers

Dipping Sauces

Method

Jalapeño Poppers

  1. 1

    Prepare the Jalapeños

Slice the jalapeños in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes. This will help reduce the heat and create a vessel for the filling.

  2. 2

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove from the pan, drain on paper towels, and chop into small pieces.

  3. 3

    Make the Filling

In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, chopped bacon, and shredded cheddar cheese. Season with salt and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

  4. 4

    Fill the Jalapeños

Spoon the cheese mixture into each jalapeño half, filling them generously.

  5. 5

    Prepare the Breading Station

Set up a breading station with three bowls: one with flour, one with a beaten egg, and one with panko breadcrumbs.

  6. 6

    Bread the Jalapeños

Dredge each filled jalapeño in flour, dip in the beaten egg, and then coat with panko breadcrumbs. Ensure they are well-covered.

  7. 7

    Fry the Jalapeños

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry the breaded jalapeños in batches for about 4-5 minutes until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Dipping Sauces

  1. 8

    Prepare the Dipping Sauces

In small bowls, serve ranch dressing and Ernie's Sauce alongside the jalapeño poppers for dipping.
