Method
Brewing the Tea
- 1
Prepare the Tea
Boil 4 cups of water in a kettle. Remove from heat, then add your choice of black tea bags or loose green tea. Let it steep for 5-7 minutes, depending on how strong you want the flavor.
Mint Infusion
- 2
Infuse the Mint
While the tea is steeping, rinse the fresh mint leaves under cold water. Gently bruise them with the back of a spoon to release their oils. Add the mint leaves to the steeping tea and let it sit for an additional 3-5 minutes.
Sweetening the Tea
- 3
Add Sweetener
If you prefer your iced tea sweetened, add 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar or honey to the tea once the steeping time is complete. Stir until dissolved.
Cooling the Tea
- 4
Cool the Tea
Remove the tea bags or strain the loose tea leaves and mint from the liquid. Allow the tea to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until chilled, about 30-45 minutes.
