Method

Burger Patty Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Beef Mixture

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently until just combined to avoid overworking the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the beef mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty that is slightly larger than the burger bun.

Cooking the Patties

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the shaped patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip.

  3. 5

    Add Cheese

After flipping, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the patties reach desired doneness.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 6

    Toast the Buns (Optional)

If desired, lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a skillet for about 1-2 minutes.

  2. 7

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of each bun, place a patty with melted cheese. Top with lettuce, tomato slices, pickles, ketchup, and mustard. Place the top half of the bun on each assembly.
