Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Mint Simple Syrup
In a small saucepan, combine equal parts water and granulated sugar. Add a handful of fresh mint leaves and bring the mixture to a simmer. Stir until the sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and let steep for 30 minutes. Strain out the mint leaves and store the syrup in the refrigerator until ready to use.
- 2
Muddle the Blueberries
In a cocktail shaker, add the fresh blueberries. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to gently crush the blueberries to release their juices.
- 3
Mix the Cocktail
Add the Montgomery Distillery Whyte Laydie Gin, house-made mint simple syrup, and fresh lime juice to the cocktail shaker with the muddled blueberries.
- 4
Shake and Strain
Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds. Strain the mixture into a chilled glass filled with ice.
- 5
Garnish and Serve
Garnish the cocktail with a few whole blueberries and a sprig of fresh mint. Serve immediately and enjoy!
